  • Sara Rose Benowitz is an Associate in our Corporate, Tax and Trust & Estate Planning Practice Groups representing businesses and individual and family estates.

    Ms. Benowitz earned her Juris Doctor and her Master of Laws in Taxation (LL.M) at the University of California, Irvine School of Law, where she received the Dean's Awards for Corporate Tax, Tax Exempt Organizations, and Tax Planning for Real Estate Transactions. She also served as Vice President of the Jewish Law Association.

    Before attending the University of California, Ms. Benowitz earned a Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Management from the City University of New York School of Public Health. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Muhlenberg College in Economics with a minor in Mathematics, graduating magna cum laude. While working on her undergraduate degree, Ms. Benowitz was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, made the Dean's list every year, and was a Presidential Merit Scholar.

    Prior to working for Lewitt Hackman, Ms. Benowitz worked with Bet Tzedek Legal Services in advising low-income clients on wills, powers of attorney, and navigating the probate system. She also worked directly with clients in filing conservatorship petitions, researching probate issues, and preparing declarations for elder abuse restraining orders.

    Ms. Benowitz also externed for the National Council of Jewish Women in Washington D.C., and volunteered with the American Civil Liberties Union here in Los Angeles.
