Neal I. Ramer is an Associate in our Trust & Estate Planning and Corporate Practice Groups.
Mr. Ramer earned his Juris Doctor in 2019 from Southwestern Law School, Los Angeles, where he was a member of the Intellectual Property Law Society, Entertainment Law Society, and the Society of Technology Law and Entrepreneurship. He also participated in Southwestern’s Entertainment & the Arts Clinic, in which he drafted a variety of agreements, releases, and non-disclosure agreements. Mr. Ramer was a Moot Court Honors Program Brief Writing finalist.
As a Judicial Extern for United States District Judge Dean Pregerson, Mr. Ramer researched and drafted case summaries, reviewed Habeas Corpus petitions and assisted in writing opinions. He also served as Business Affairs and Legal Intern for Lionsgate Entertainment, and as Legal Extern for the Director’s Guild of America.
Prior to joining Lewitt Hackman, Mr. Ramer worked for an estate planning firm in the San Fernando Valley, where he helped clients identify estate planning goals and drafted trusts accordingly, as well as other documents pertinent to those goals – including wills and transfers of real property, corporate and LLC interests. He also worked in trust administration, ensuring client goals were met following the death of the client, or once the client became incapacitated. Additional duties of trust administration included issuing notifications of death, distribution of assets, financial reporting and more.
Mr. Ramer earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from Tulane University in New Orleans, where he was a founding member of the Pre-Law Society, and a member of Phi Gamma Delta. He later earned a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Ryokan College, Los Angeles, and spent several years as a psychologist before seeking a career in law.
