Jana G. Garrotto is Senior Counsel in our Trust & Estate Planning Practice Group with nearly 30 years’ experience. She is focused on protecting her clients’ goals for distribution of a variety of assets and family business interests. This entails customized and comprehensive planning for each client.
Such transactions often require the drafting of trusts, wills and durable powers of attorney, making health care surrogate designations, strategizing charitable giving, and establishing guardianships.
When business interests are involved, Ms. Garrotto is also well versed in related legal areas, including: real estate transactions, intellectual property protections, business succession planning, and corporate and estate tax minimization. She has worked with clients at all phases of family business planning – from the setup of the most appropriate legal structure for growth and continued success, to devising efficient exit strategies – all with an eye to her clients’ costs, income and retirement goals.
Ms. Garrotto typically represents:
Family Business Owners
Individuals in Professional Services Industries
Entertainment Industry Professionals
Before joining Lewitt Hackman, Ms. Garrotto was an estate planning attorney at her own, and other firms in Los Angeles. She first practiced civil, business litigation earlier in her career.
