Robert A. Hull

Robert A. Hull is an Associate in our Trusts & Estate Planning and Corporate Practice Groups.

Mr. Hull advises our clients through all aspects of will and estate planning law with a focus on tax and other benefits for both the client and the heirs. He structures wills and special trusts to suit unique circumstances addressing personal or business needs. Mr. Hull also advises clients on steps to avoid the probate process – a normally lengthy, and expensive procedure for the heirs of an estate. He guides clients through the trust administration and probate processes.

In addition to his practice in trusts and estate planning, Mr. Hull is also a California business lawyer, advising company owners and executives on all aspects of saving time and money, preserving rights, and avoiding litigation. In this capacity, Mr. Hull:

  • Forms and maintains business entities.

  • Writes all manner of agreements including operating agreements, settlement agreements, confidentiality agreements, purchase agreements, terms and conditions, buy-sell agreements, asset/stock purchase agreements and shareholder’s agreements.

  • Assists in the launch of start-up ventures, as well as the purchase or sale of businesses including practices for physicians, dentists and other professionals.

The California trust attorney and business lawyer has a broad base of experience, also helping employers draft employee handbooks and defend against harassment claims, persuading courts to deny motions, and preparing briefs in wrongful termination suits. Mr. Hull’s practice areas in business, and tax and estate planning often complement each other, as he helps owners and executives ensure smoother and more financially beneficial transfers of assets to their heirs.

Mr. Hull initially worked in the entertainment industry in New York and Los Angeles before focusing on his current practice areas. He joined our Firm after earning his law degree in 2006 from Pepperdine University School of Law, where he graduated Cum Laude. While at Pepperdine, Mr. Hull was a "Faculty Scholar", Note & Comment Editor of the Pepperdine Law Review, and a member of the Dean's List, the Phi Delta Phi Honor Society and the Jewish Law Students Association.

The author of What Hath Hiibel Wrought: The Constitutionality of Compelled Self-Identification (for Pepperdine Law Review, Fall 2005), Mr. Hull served as an extern for the Honorable Florence-Marie Cooper of the United States District Court for the Central District of California, as well as a research assistant for Associate Dean Shelley Saxer, and as a law clerk at Bet Tzedek Legal Services.

He is a member of the State Bars of California, New York and Connecticut. The California trust attorney and business lawyer is also a member of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association, the Santa Clarita Bar Association and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.

Mr. Hull is a Southern California Rising Star for 2013 and 2014, as selected by Super Lawyers Magazine.
