LAW STUDENT RECRUITING
Summer Associates
Lewitt Hackman traditionally has hired summer associates each year. We have structured our summer associate program to give law students a realistic view of the way we practice law. Our summer associates do meaningful, billable work. At the beginning of the summer, our summer associates are assigned to a partner in the firm to act as their mentor and who controls their workload. However, our summer associates are encouraged to work closely with all of our partners and associates so that they can determine what areas of law they enjoy and what areas of law they might like to pursue in the future.
In the past, our summer associates have worked on a variety of matters including legal research and drafting discovery, motions and agreements. Our summer associates have also been permitted to attend depositions, court proceedings and closings so that they may see the fruits of their hard work. We urge our attorneys to mentor our summer associates and to provide feedback when a project has been completed so that the summer associate may learn from any mistakes they may have made.
The firm normally begins recruitment for its summer associates in March. Currently, the firm is not accepting resumes for summer associates.

Law Clerks
The firm has also hired law students to work part time as law clerks during the school year. In the past, our law clerks have worked on a variety of matters including legal research and drafting discovery, motions and agreements. Our law clerks have also been permitted to attend depositions, court proceedings and closings so that they may learn more about the legal process. Currently, the firm is not accepting resumes for law clerks.
