Kevin E. Rex graduated Cum Laude from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1993, with a major in political science. He joined the firm after receiving his law degree in 1996 from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, and became a shareholder in 2002.

Mr. Rex is practicing primarily in the areas of general corporate and business law, with an emphasis on negotiating and handling mergers and acquisitions. He has represented numerous privately held and family owned businesses over the years and as a result, his practice also includes estate planning, focusing mainly on succession issues. Mr. Rex also practices in the fields of internet, real estate and entertainment law. Mr. Rex has advised clients during his career in a variety of industries including the entertainment, manufacturing, distributing, health care, real estate, internet, retail, insurance, travel and accounting fields. He has also counseled clients on a variety of general business matters including distribution arrangements, employment relationships, leases, intellectual property issues and other contractual issues.

Mr. Rex is a member of the State Bar of California, the San Fernando Valley Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He has served as a Member of the Board of Trustees of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association for four (4) years, as the Chairman of the Barrister’s Section of the San Fernando Valley Bar for three (3) years and as a chair of the Membership and Marketing Committee of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association for two (2) years. Currently, Mr. Rex is serving for the second year as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Valley Community Legal Foundation of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association. He has been on the Fundraising Committee of the Valley Community Legal Foundation for two (2) years and is serving his first year as the Chairman of for Sponsorships for the annual Law Day Gala.

In an effort to give back to his community, Mr. Rex has volunteered at the Van Nuys Self Help Legal Access Center, acted as a settlement officer for the Van Nuys and Chatsworth courts as part of the VAST Program , mentored young attorneys and acted as a moderator for the court walk-thru program in Van Nuys. Over the years, Mr. Rex has given numerous seminars on such varied topics as: "Considerations When Buying and Selling a Business", "How to Protect Your Intellectual Property for Little or No Money", "Estate Planning Myths and Realities", and "Will Contests".

Mr. Rex authored an article published in the October 23, 2006 San Fernando Valley Business Journal entitled "How To Maximize Your Price When Sellilng A Business." He has also been a contributing author to "Planning for the Future Success of Your Business: Succession and Exit Strategies", published in the San Fernando Valley Business Journal on March 27, 2006, "Family Business Planning for the Future", published in the San Fernando Valley Business Journal on March 28, 2005, and "Cohabitation: Contract or Conduct Can Determine the Settlement", published by Lawyers World in 1997. Mr. Rex is admitted to practice in the state courts in California as well as before the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. Mr. Rex was also listed in Los Magazine’s Super Lawyer Edition as a Rising Star for 2005 and 2006.
