Andrew L. Shapiro graduated from the California State University at Northridge in 1968, majoring in philosophy. He received his law degree from Loyola University School of Law in 1971. While in law school, Mr. Shapiro became certified under the Practical Training Program for law students and, through his efforts, the Presiding Judge of the Municipal Courts in Los Angeles allowed law students for the first time to represent clients in actual courtroom proceedings.

Mr. Shapiro has practiced law since 1972, specializing in all phases of negligence and personal injury litigation. He has extensive experience in litigating serious injury and death cases. He joined the firm and became a shareholder in 1980. Since 1974, he has served on the Panel of Arbitrators for the American Arbitration Association and the Los Angeles Superior Court and as a Judge Pro Tem for the Los Angeles Municipal Court. Mr. Shapiro also serves frequently as a Mediator for the Los Angeles and Ventura County Superior Courts and is a member of the State Bar of California, as well as the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles and the Consumer Attorneys of California. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of California.
