Stephen T. Holzer received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Yale University in 1970, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He received his Juris Doctor in 1974 from Yale Law School. While in law school, Mr. Holzer was on the Board of Editors, Yale Law Journal. He joined the firm in 2006.

Professional Experience:
Mr. Holzer is Chair of the firm's Environmental Litigation and Transactions Department.

Mr. Holzer started in the mid-1970's as a business litigator. In the early 1980's, Mr. Holzer began to represent clients specifically in the environmental law field. Mr. Holzer’s experience as a business litigator has enabled him to represent clients' interests in environmental matters not only in a transactional but also in an administrative or litigation context.

Mr. Holzer also has litigated cases involving eminent domain and franchise and trademark law. He further continues to handle cases involving general business disputes.

Mr. Holzer is admitted to the State Bar of California (1977) and is also admitted to practice Illinois (1974). He is admitted to practice various Federal trial and appellate courts.

Mr. Holzer throughout his career has been extensively involved in the community. He presently is Chair (2008-2010) of the United Chambers of Commerce of the San Fernando Valley and President (2009-2010) of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association Valley Community Legal Foundation. He is also presently (2009-2010) Co-Chair of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association Bench-Bar Committee.

He has served as President (2002-2003) of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association; Chair (2004) of the Woodland Hills Chamber of Commerce; Member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association Board of Trustees (2001-2002 and 2003-2004); and President (1995-1998) of Temple Solael.

Mr. Holzer has been selected as a "Southern California Super Lawyer" for 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 by Law & Politics and the publishers of Los Angeles Magazine. He is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubble.

Mr. Holzer writes a weekly column, “Legal News You Can Use”, for the Valley News Group of newspapers, including the Warner Center News; the Valley Vantage; and the Las Virgenes Enterprise (www.valleynewsgroup.com); he also authors a weblog, http://environmentallegal.blogs.com.
